1. Remove odor from your hands:

Rub some salt on your hands, then rinse to remove odors like garlic and onion. This works for pans and containers, too.

2. Use as a skin exfoliant:

In order to have glowing, healthy looking skin you need to get rid of the dead skin that can make it look dull. Gently rub some salt on your skin after the shower, then rinse off.

3. As a gargle:

Gargle with a mixture of equal parts salt and water to soothe a sore throat.

4. Deodorize your drain:

Mix 1/2 cup salt into 1/2 cup hot water and pour it down the drain to eliminate odor and cut grease buildup.

5. Deodorize cutting boards:

Rub salt onto a cutting board with a damp cloth.

6. DIY mouthwash:

Make a mixture of equal parts salt and baking soda. Add 1 teaspoon to a glass of water and swish around your mouth to freshen breath and eliminate smelly bacteria.

7. Make a foot soak:

Fill a small tub with warm water and add about 1/2 cup salt. Soak your feet and rinse when you’re done.

8. Soothe a bee sting:

Wet the area and cover with salt.

9. Remove wine stains:

Save tablecloths, clothes, carpets, etc! First use a clean cloth to absorb the wine, then pour salt over it and leave it for a few hours. Rinse with cold water and soap. Vacuum the carpet.

10. DIY ant repellent:

Salt is a safe, chemical-free ant repellent! Just sprinkle in cabinets to keep the pests away.
